Before your CELITA visit: passport, medications, flights

Question: What should I prepare before visiting a skin clinic in Korea?

Short answer

Before visiting CELITA Clinic, it helps to prepare your passport (ID) for identity checks, a list of medications and supplements you take, your allergy and previous treatment history, and your departure date. Narrowing your concerns to 2-3 and ranking them helps the consultation plan your treatment more accurately. Preparation that differs by treatment, such as fasting or whether to take medication, should be confirmed by messaging app before your visit.

Key points

  • Bring ID such as a passport (checked at reception)
  • List medications, supplements, allergies and past treatments
  • Rank your top 2-3 skin concerns
  • Share your arrival and departure dates at consultation
  • Face washing is done at the clinic; allow 1-2 hours

What must I bring to my visit?

Your identity is checked at reception, so be sure to bring ID; visitors from abroad should bring their passport.

The ID check at the 4th-floor reception takes about 5 minutes. Payment is made after the consultation and before treatment, by card, cash or bank transfer.

Having the booking chat from your messaging app ready makes it easy to confirm your booking details.

What health information should I share with the medical team?

Tell us about any medications and supplements you take, allergies, chronic conditions and previous cosmetic treatments.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) advises telling your provider about everything you take before filler treatment, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal remedies, giving warfarin, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, St. John's wort and garlic or ginger supplements as examples. Some blood-thinning medicines can raise the risk of bleeding and bruising, but do not stop any medication on your own; talk to the doctor who prescribed it.

Allergies, bleeding disorders, recurring cold sores (lip blisters), heart conditions, previous injectable or implant procedures and easily irritated skin are also important to share. If you have an implanted device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, some lifting devices cannot be used, so be sure to mention it. Bringing photos of medicine packaging or prescriptions makes it easier to convey medication names accurately.

What should I sort out before the consultation?

It helps to narrow down the concerns you want to improve to 2-3 and rank them.

At CELITA Clinic, after the intake consultation the Director personally assesses you and creates a tailored treatment plan, and ranked priorities make it possible to plan more accurately within a limited stay.

It also helps to tell us your arrival and departure dates in Korea and any important events after your visit. CELITA Clinic adjusts treatment with your departure date in mind, including whether flying or wearing makeup on the same day is possible.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

Yes. At the clinic, you will cleanse your face for about 5 minutes to remove makeup and sunscreen.

After cleansing, the visit proceeds with AI skin analysis (about 10 minutes), consultation (about 20 minutes), payment and treatment (about 30 minutes to 1 hour including numbing); allow about 1-2 hours in total for consultation and treatment.

Whether you need to fast, take medication or wash your face differs by treatment, so it is a good idea to confirm in advance through a one-on-one message. Sedation is not provided as standard, and numbing cream is considered depending on the type of treatment.

Step by step

  1. Pack your passport (ID).
  2. Write down or photograph a list of the medications, vitamins and supplements you take.
  3. Note your allergies and previous treatments (filler, skin boosters, implants and so on).
  4. Choose 2-3 concerns you want to improve and rank them.
  5. Check your arrival and departure dates in Korea.
  6. Confirm by message whether your treatment requires fasting, medication changes or face washing beforehand.

FAQ

Can minors receive treatment?

Anyone under 19 (international age) needs a guardian's consent. Minors cannot receive filler or thread lifts, but lifting treatments such as Onda lifting are possible.

Is it okay if I have acne or a wound on my face?

The Ultherapy instructions for use state that treatment should not be performed if there are open wounds or lesions, or severe or cystic acne, in the treatment area. If your skin is not in its usual condition, let us know by message before your visit and confirm at consultation whether treatment is possible.

Can I drive to the clinic?

The building has no parking of its own, so you would need to use nearby Myeongsin Parking or Daelim Parking. The clinic is a 1-minute walk from Exit 15 of Seomyeon Station, so the subway makes your travel time easier to predict.
