Question: Why do clinics do AI skin analysis and ultrasound checks before treatment?
AI skin analysis and an ultrasound check are done before treatment to confirm, with objective data, skin conditions that are hard to judge by eye alone, and to use that data when planning treatment. CELITA Clinic uses EVE V MUSE, a device for 3D facial imaging and AI analysis, and Sono Finder, a handheld ultrasound probe. The number of lifting shots is decided by considering this measurement data together with skin firmness, the size of the area and the result you hope for.

CELITA Clinic's AI skin analysis uses the EVE V MUSE device, which takes 3D images of the face and analyzes them with AI.
It is done after check-in and face cleansing and takes about 10 minutes. Because images are taken with makeup and sunscreen removed, you cleanse your face at the clinic first.
A doctor explains the images in the consultation that follows, and they are used as a reference for deciding the treatment and its order.
Sono Finder is a handheld ultrasound probe used before treatment to view the condition beneath the skin as an image.
HIFU (ultrasound) lifting focuses energy at set depths beneath the skin, so each cartridge (transducer) of a device has a fixed focal depth. For example, Ultherapy PRIME uses 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm, and the Shurink Universe Face cartridge covers 1.5 to 4.5 mm.
For treatments that deliver energy at different depths like this, looking at the condition beneath the skin beforehand helps with planning.
The analysis results serve as objective data considered together with skin firmness, the size of the area and the result you hope for when deciding the number of lifting shots and the combination of treatments.
In the consultation, the measurement results are explained along with the treatment, the cost including VAT and the recovery period (downtime).
Narrowing your concerns down to 2 or 3 and setting priorities lets the plan be linked to the measurement data and made more specific.
The analysis is reference data on your current skin condition and does not confirm the treatment result in advance.
Even with the same treatment, when and how much change appears, and reactions such as redness, swelling and bruising, vary from person to person. The consultation explains both the changes you can expect and the side effects that may occur.
It is also noted that when sagging is severe, non-surgical devices alone have limits and surgery may need to be considered, so it is a good idea to discuss realistic goals based on the analysis results.
Ultherapy PRIME received FDA 510(k) clearance for treatment while viewing ultrasound images up to 8 mm beneath the skin with its DeepSEE transducer. The imaging is used to check that the transducer is in proper contact with the skin and at an appropriate depth, for example avoiding bone.
Staff who speak English, Chinese and Japanese are on site, so you can have a consultation without requesting a separate interpreter. If you tell the clinic your preferred language when booking, you will be connected with that staff member.
Before the analysis, you cleanse your face at the clinic to remove makeup and sunscreen, so it is fine to arrive wearing makeup. Cleansing takes about 5 minutes.
